Be Centered – Day Three
Before we get into Day 3 - How did doing nothing go?
Was it difficult? Were you able to finally relax into it? If not – don’t worry. It can take some time for our minds and bodies to get used to it because you are deprogramming the “doing” narrative from society. (“Idle hands are the devil’s workshop/plaything” is definitely ingrained in the energetic dna of the United States.)
Today’s topic may help you with that. So let’s talk meditation!

There are like an infinite number of ways to meditate. There is no way for us to get into all of them. Instead, we are going to be focusing on unguided meditations.
What is an unguided meditation?
An unguided meditation is one in which you typically meditate alone, or at least without someone directing you or the group through a process. You may listen to nature sounds or instrumental music to relax, or you may silently meditate. You may simply be observing your thoughts and body sensations, or you may be focusing on an idea, word, or object – like the flame of a candle or smoke from incense.
The observing meditation that you will be doing is a tool you can use to assist in getting in tune with your body’s needs and to create space in which you are “doing nothing.” You can do it nearly anywhere or anytime. And it doesn’t require any fancy tools or access to anything other than yourself.
Let's meditate!
Your Meditation Guidelines:
– Get comfortable, or as comfortable as possible. You may opt to put in headphones or to close yourself in a quiet space.
– Focus on your breath to begin. Breathing as deeply and comfortably as possible. (I like to close my eyes as well because it limits the other sensory inputs I am processing.)
– If thoughts come up, allow them to pass by. Don’t hold onto them. Be the gentle observer of your thoughts and of your body.
– Try to do this for 60 seconds. (If you have some experience with meditation, try 3, 5, or 10 minutes.) As you do this more often, and as you practice doing nothing, it will get easier to do. You will deprogram the pressures of performance, production, and profit more and more. So be gentle and compassionate with yourself. Those pressures are difficult to deprogram. <3
We focused down on one type of meditation today to keep things simple. (We’re only doing this for 6 days!) But if you wish to explore some guided meditations, you can get my Rejuvenate collection by clicking here. Or you can google and youtube meditations and techniques as well.
Tomorrow is Day 4 and we will be getting into reframing – another tool we can use to de- and re- program our minds and bodies.
Enjoy meditating, and I’ll see you then!
