Why C(r)apitalism?

At Slow Mornings Co., we recognize the harm caused by capitalism—how it extracts resources from both people and the planet, all to fuel a system that benefits only a few. We also understand that this is the system in which many of us live. And survival within it, at least for now, is necessary, while we divest and destroy it. That’s why we call it C(r)apitalism—to highlight its destructive nature while acknowledging the seeming inability to escape it.

While the weight of capitalism is well, A LOT – survival doesn’t mean surrender. That means continuing to find ways to subvert, divest, and destroy. That means mutual aid networks, free community fridges, gardens, etc. It means community care, slowing down, and shifting values.

We survive and make change together under C(r)apitalism.

About Slow Mornings Co.

Slow Mornings Co. was born out of the growing urgency to challenge the relentless pace of modern life and the harmful impacts of hustle culture and capitalism. In a world that often glorifies busyness and productivity to the point of exhaustion, we’re here to offer more than just an alternative—we’re fostering a movement for care, connection, and community.

We recognize that capitalism, or as we like to call it, C(r)apitalism, is deeply flawed. It perpetuates inequality, exploits labor, and depletes our planet’s resources—all in the pursuit of profit. And while we acknowledge the necessity of survival within this system, we refuse to accept its harmful effects as inevitable.

While yes, we criticize capitalism AND sell journals, planners, and the like – your purchases support the movement and allows us to create space for softness and slowness, while the current system exists.

Welcome to Slow Mornings Co.—a refuge for those seeking a gentler, more authentic way of living.
